Vinho Verde DOC Loureiro
Freshness, elegance and identity in a 100% Loureiro wine.

António Vilela Areias Vinho Verde Loureiro is born at Quinta do Couço, in Louredo, Póvoa de Lanhoso, in the heart of the Vinho Verde region.
Made exclusively from the Loureiro grape, it seeks to express the freshness and aromatic character that distinguish this variety, so closely tied to north-western Portugal.
Light, fresh and vibrant, it is a wine made for moments with friends, a meal at the table or simply to be enjoyed well chilled.

A Loureiro from the Ave sub-region
The grapes used to make this wine are harvested at Quinta do Couço, located in the Alto Ave, in the Ave sub-region of the Vinho Verde Demarcated Region.
The Atlantic influence, the temperate climate and the region’s characteristic granite soils create particularly favourable conditions for producing fresh, balanced wines with a strong identity.
It is here that we grow the Loureiro that gives rise to António Vilela Areias Vinho Verde.

Profile and tasting notes
António Vilela Areias Loureiro has a young, fresh and elegant profile.
On the nose, fruity notes and delicate floral nuances stand out, characteristics that make the Loureiro grape particularly recognisable.
On the palate, it shows freshness and balanced acidity, resulting in a light, pleasant and easy-drinking wine.
It is a wine that seeks to preserve the expression of the grape and the typical freshness of the Vinho Verde region.

At the table
The freshness and lightness of Loureiro make it particularly versatile. It is an excellent choice to accompany:
- grilled fish;
- seafood;
- salads and light dishes;
- starters and appetisers;
- summer meals.
It can also be enjoyed on its own, served chilled, as a wine for sharing.
From vine to bottle
At Quinta do Couço, the vineyard is farmed under Integrated Production (PRODI), complemented by practices aimed at more sustainable agriculture.
This care begins in the vineyard and follows the whole journey to the bottle, seeking to preserve the quality of the grapes and the characteristics that identify the wine and its land.
A wine with a story
The name António Vilela Areias pays tribute to the man who acquired Quinta do Couço in 1864 and began a family legacy that is still alive today.
The estate’s connection to wine is documented at least since the 19th century. In 1889, António Vilela Areias sent the 1888 red wine vintage produced at Quinta do Couço to the Paris Universal Exhibition.
Today, his name returns to the bottles through a new generation.

Awards
Since the brand was first sold, António Vilela Areias wines have received awards in national and international competitions. This recognition reflects a constant pursuit of quality and honours a story that begins at Quinta do Couço.
